Have you ever wanted to experience being behind the wheel of a Lamborghini or driving at speeds greater than 200 mph? The cheapest and actually one of the most enjoyable ways to do so is to play a 3D racing game. The level of detail provided in the fully three-dimensional environments is nothing short of amazing. Being able to grip a wheel and use the pedals if you have bought yourself the setup is an unreal experience. The games that are developed surrounding this industry have some of the most advanced graphics within a video game and the most desired cars represented in dazzling detail that just happen to also be some of the fastest in the world. The experience of using a 3D racing game is not one that is easily forgotten and can become something an entire family can come together around. Truly, 3D racing games are just the tip of the iceberg for things you can experience within the 3D video game realm, but they will always be the most refined form of experiencing it, considering all of the technologies are developed to make you feel as though you are behind the wheel of your dream car.

The Burn-Out video game series was notorious not just for racing but for the emphasis on total and utter destruction. It was a kind of demolition derby except instead of being in some open area where you all spiral around one another; there was also a race to the finish happening where extra points and perks were awarded for running your opponents off the road along the way. Back in college, before I could afford Cable or Satellite TV, I would spend hours playing with my roommates, quickly developing rivalries and making enemies out of friends.

In addition to the utter carnage one could unleash on an opponent, the Burn-Out games were also known for their accuracy in terms of how the different makes and models handled on the road, and all it took was an inexperienced driver with the wrong equipment on a hazardous map to ramp up the difficulty and the fun. That, in many ways, was the overall appeal of Burn-Out – the simplicity. It was about having fun and destroying your competition and while finesse might have helped you dance around the track, it was more about taking out opponents and driving cautiously on hazardous tracks with hazardous drivers.

Ridge Racer 3DS is the 3D car racing game. Made for the Nintendo 3DS, this racing game makes full use of the 3D technology. Dirt flies, flames shoot out of tail pipes, and the scenery explodes around you so vibrantly you’ll think it’s real. Ridge Racer allows up to 4 players to compete in high impact races.

If you need 3D racing on the go, look no further than these next two awesome games. Circuit Racer 3D is made for the Android OS and features buggy cars. The game has ten different buggies to pick from and allows you to go for a practice spin to get a feel for them. It also has several different options for tracks and weather, plus gameplay options. The game model is an amazingly close simulation of the actual physics of driving a car.

Race Gear-Feel 3D Car Racing is another game for the Android. This one features standard types of cars, but also has a very realistic car driving game play. It allows the player to practice braking, turning and driving at high speeds. The various options include changing the car color, camera view, scenery and game play controls.

You can play these games on your computer, as long as the screen is 3D capable and you have the glasses on. This way you can experience the game in even greater light than before.

Sims Taxi is a great game which allows for 3D racing. It is not your typical racing game and it is more about strategy and doing other things, but it is a super fun game nonetheless. It is something the whole family can enjoy and have a great laugh while playing.This/tag helps explain it more.

Certain websites also host 3D games and GamesFreak.net is a great example. They have a 3D Rally Racing Game where you can pick either a Toyota or a Ford and race it around certain rally tracks. You have to complete 5 laps of the track and try to finish first, or beat your best lap times, whichever motivation works best for you. Either way, it is a great game that you just have to click open the website to play. No need to download anything either and it is a super fun game that anyone can learn quickly and enjoy.

The racing genre has changed drastically over the years. What started as a fun diversion from platformers has evolved into an industry full of different choices. Some racing games offer realism, and try to replicate exactly how it feels to drive a real car. Other games are more arcade based. The experience is about driving fast and having fun, rather than focusing on realism.

The number one and two 3D racing game is Gran Turismo 3 and 4. The franchise has captured the hearts of gamers across the world as it most accurately replicates what the cars look and sound like.Didn’t catch that? This explains it. The graphics are simply out of this world in comparison to other franchises.

Another top racing game is Project Gotham Racing. Combining the right mix of fun and realism, it launched to become one of the best-selling racing games ever.

The Driver series is less focused on realism but still manages to capture that racing feel. These games are for younger players who want to have fun.

Another 3D racing game that rounds out the top five list is Mario Kart. It is the least traditional racing game, but arguably the most fun game on the list. Many gamers spend days playing through Mario Kart and racing their friends.
